The UK trademark practice of Intellectual Property (IP) consultancy Novagraaf has been recommended for its expertise in the 2017 edition of The Legal 500. Trademark Attorneys Nora Fowler and Michael Freeman were recognised in this year’s publication.
For the sixth year running, Novagraaf's UK offices have been recommended in the PATMA Trademark Attorney (Technology, Media and Telecoms) section of The Legal 500.
The Legal 500 is collated independently by legal publisher Legalese. Its team speaks to thousands of commercial clients every year, and its rankings and recommendations are based on the outcome of those discussions and on merit alone.
In this year’s guide, Nora Fowler and Michael Freeman were singled out for their expertise. Nora was recognised for her notable experience handling oppositions before the EUIPO and UKIPO, whilst Michael was recommended for guiding clients through the early stages of the trade mark selection and registration process.
Based in Novagraaf’s Manchester office, Michael represents a wide range of clients from both small and large national companies to multinational corporations. In particular, he has substantial expertise in guiding clients through each stage of the trademark selection and registration process, including: conducting trademark clearance searching on both a UK and international basis; advising on filing strategies; and managing any official objections and/or third-party oppositions arising during the registration process.
Specialising in trademark registrability and prosecution, searching and clearance for use, and UK, EU and International filing strategies, Nora provides IP support and services to national and international clients in a wide range of industries. Based in Novagraaf’s London office, she advises clients on new trademark filing strategies, and opposition and cancellation matters, and assists in-house teams with the management of international trademark portfolios.
Commenting on the firm’s recommendation, Practice Head Eric Siecker said: “Novagraaf delivers tailored consultancy services designed to add value to clients as well as to help them to protect, enforce, manage and value their IP as key corporate assets. Supported by the global resources and heritage of the wider Novagraaf Group, we are able to provide innovative and IP-specific solutions that provide insight and facilitate IP management for our corporate clients. It is in this bespoke approach that we believe we are able to make a real difference, so we are pleased to be recognised again in this edition of The Legal 500.”
