The UK trademark practice of Intellectual Property (IP) consultancy Novagraaf has been recommended for its expertise in the 2018 edition of The Legal 500. Trademark Attorneys Claire Jones and Vanessa Harrow were recognised in this year’s publication.
For the seventh year running, Novagraaf's UK offices have been recommended in the PATMA Trademark Attorney (Technology, Media and Telecoms) section of The Legal 500.
The Legal 500 is collated independently by legal publisher Legalese. Its team speaks to thousands of commercial clients every year, and its rankings and recommendations are based on the outcome of those discussions and on merit alone.
In this year’s guide, Claire Jones and Vanessa Harrow were singled out for their expertise. Claire was recognised for her notable experience in advising on online infringement and monitoring issues, whilst Vanessa was recommended for guiding clients, such as leading drinks business Stock Spirits, through IP enforcement and protection processes.
Specialising in trademark prosecution, filing strategies and portfolio management, Claire provides IP support and services to national and international clients in a wide range of industries. Based in Novagraaf’s London office, she advises clients on new trademark filing strategies, and opposition and cancellation matters, and assists in-house teams with the management of international trademark portfolios.
Based in Novagraaf’s Manchester office, Vanessa represents a wide range of clients from both small and large national companies to multinational corporations. In particular, she has considerable experience in negotiating and drafting multi-jurisdictional settlement agreements, auditing trademarks portfolios in order to streamline rights and fill gaps in protection, and overcoming substantive objections at the EUIPO and UKIPO.
Commenting on the firm’s recommendation, Practice Head Eric Siecker said: “Novagraaf delivers tailored legal, administrative and commercial services in line with clients’ overall business goals, which are designed to help them to protect, enforce, manage and value their IP as key corporate assets. Supported by the global resources and heritage of the wider Novagraaf Group, we are able to provide innovative and IP-specific solutions that provide commercial insight for our corporate clients. It is by using this unique approach that we believe we are truly able to make a difference, so we are pleased to be recognised again in this edition of The Legal 500.”
