Identical

The process of choosing a name for a new product or service usually starts with a long list of possible trade marks and narrowing down this list can be very time consuming. The Identical entry level search enables you to eliminate existing registered trade marks quickly and effectively, so producing a shortlist of valid options.

To check whether your proposed trade mark has already been registered in the European Union, we have introduced a new product: the EU Identical Trade Mark Search with Legal Advice. This search gives you a quick and easy way to reveal identical trade marks that may be a problem when you want to register your trade mark.

Basic

If you do not need a legal opinion on the search results from a local expert, you can opt for a Basic search. The clearance search is still carried out using local databases but the legal opinion is written by an EU trade mark expert based on EU case law.

Premium 

The EurosearchPlus Premium search offers the highest level of confidence for the clearance for use of a trade mark. With our network of highly-qualified agents and local trade mark attorneys, Novagraaf investigates the registration options in the countries of your choice. The research and local opinions are based on national legislation and case law, and also highlight any unintended or undesirable connotations that a name may evoke in a particular culture.

Company/Trade Name Search

The prior existence of a company or trade name can hinder the development of a new trade mark. A trade name which has been used for many years, but which has not been registered as a trade mark, may block the registration of a new trade mark. Our advice is to include a Company Name Search with trade mark searches to avoid such problems.

 

In-Use Verification Search

Laws and regulations in many countries make the current use of a trade mark ever more important in securing trade mark rights. Third parties may take legal action to cancel registered trade marks which are not actually in use. This type of search verifies whether a trade mark has been used within the legally prescribed period, usually five years.
