Declaration of independence of South Sudan

Consequences for existing trademark registrations in Sudan.
On July 8th 2011 South Sudan declared its independence and became the world’s newest nation. It is not clear yet what the consequences are for Intellectual Property rights registered in Sudan. There is currently no national IP law in South Sudan and it seems that Sudanese laws and registrations are not recognized by the new nation.
