A Trademark Attorney, Alexandra Di Maggio focuses on both the creation of and adding value to IP rights (filing, portfolio evaluation, contracts) and in defending them (formal notice, opposition, confiscation, pre-litigation procedures, negotiations, administrative disputes, counterfeiting). She also regularly prepares and organises intellectual property conferences for associations and chambers of commerce, as well as providing training courses in this area.

Career history

Alexandra holds a Masters degree in Private Law from the Université Pierre Mendès-France Grenoble II, a Masters degree in European law with a specialisation in comparative law and German civil law from the University of Freiburg in Germany, a Masters degree in German, and a Masters degree in modern languages from the Université Stendhal Grenoble III. She also obtained a Masters degree II in Agreements and Intellectual Property (IP) from the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg in 1999. She has been an IP consultant (trademarks and designs) and a Trademark Attorney at the EUIPO since 2007.

In 1999, Alexandra began her career in IP in the Trademark department of a German office. She gained further experience within the international trademark department of a perfumes and cosmetics multinational company. Alexandra then joined Novagraaf in 2001.

Memberships

Alexandra is an active member of MARQUES association, where she is in charge of the Unfair Competition Committee at the APRAM (Association of Law Practitioners for Trademarks and Models). She is also a member of the Trademarks Commission at CNCPI.
