Cédric Mutelet

Cédric Mutelet is a Patent Engineer working in the Physics-Mechanical Department of Novagraaf.

He is mainly involved in patent application drafting and in grant proceedings management before the patent offices. Cédric is also involved in opposition proceedings before the INPI and the EPO and associated appeals.

He also focuses on preparing expert reports on freedom to operate, patentability, infringement and validity of patents.

Complementarily, Cédric provides legal advice and assistance to R&D for operating units in the early stages of project engineering, focused on IP awareness, evaluation of opportunities for patent protection and field-specific analysis of legislation and risks to conclude on recommendations to maintain a competitive advantage. In addition, he cooperates on the implementation of patent portfolio optimisation strategies around technologies and products in patent committee.

Career history

Cédric's first professional experience was in the study of the mechanical behavior of organic matrix composites within an aeronautical equipment manufacturer, followed by experience in R&D focused on the development of missiles by metallic laser sintering in the area of defense. He started his career in intellectual property in 2016 at a Parisian law firm, before joining Novagraaf in 2022.

Cédric is an aeronautical engineer graduate from ESTACA-ISAE. He is also a graduate of the Center for International Industrial Property Studies (CEIPI).
