Junior Manager Trademark Watch & Search
| Amsterdam (hybrid)
About the job
Are you a recently graduated HBO+ professional with a specialization in Business Studies, Business Administration, or a related field — and do you have an international mindset? Ready to start in a hands-on role while growing into a strategic leadership position?
We are looking for a Junior Manager to help lead our Watch & Search department — a crucial part of our mission to protect our clients’ intellectual property across borders.
About the Role
The department monitors our clients’ trademarks, assessing whether newly filed trademarks are similar to those of our clients. The team possesses extensive client knowledge and works with specialized tools in collaboration with a team in India.
In addition, the department handles all regular operational matters such as:
- Intake of new orders
- Preparing quotations
- Managing invoicing
- Coordinating all search assignments for new client trademarks
The department operates within the international environment of Questel and collaborates with affiliated companies and clients across Europe and the rest of the world.
This is a hybrid role combining operational execution with strategic growth potential. You will begin by learning the tools, processes, and data that drive our Searching & Watching services. Over time, you will grow into a leadership position, contributing to process optimization, client strategy, and team development.
Your Mission
- Become an expert in intellectual property (trademarks and designs) search and monitoring tools and data flows.
- Master internal processes and ensure high-quality client service delivery.
- Co-lead the team alongside the current manager, contributing to both daily operations and strategic improvements.
- Drive structure: document, organize, and optimize workflows, including invoicing and client communication.
- Take ownership of client deliverables, problem-solving, and continuous process improvement.
What You Bring
- A completed degree in Business Studies, Business Administration, or a comparable field at a minimum HBO level.
- A data-oriented mindset with a natural eye for detail.
- Strong affinity with technical tools — and ideas on how to improve them.
- A hands-on mentality — willing to roll up your sleeves in a small, agile team.
- Comfort working in an international environment with global stakeholders.
- Ambition to grow beyond daily operations into management and strategic decision-making.
- Strong language skills: excellent communication abilities in both Dutch and English.
- Experience in a similar intellectual property (IP) role is a plus.
What We Offer
- A high-impact role with career growth opportunities.
- A dynamic, international working environment.
- A competitive compensation package: base salary, holiday allowance, and a 13th-month bonus.
- 30 vacation days, pension scheme, home-working allowance, and public transport card.
- Laptop and access to advanced technological tools and platforms.
- Professional development opportunities: access to e-learning, IP courses, and room for personal initiatives.
