Dan Halliday is a UK Chartered Trademark Attorney, having completed more than five years’ training at Novagraaf. Dan has experience in administering filing formalities for trademark applications, managing renewals, assignments and recordals, instructing local agents and performing IP audits. As a Trademark Attorney, Dan advises clients on their trademark and design portfolios and offers strategic advice on brand protection. He focuses on conducting pre-filing clearance searches for new applications, responding to official actions raised by the UKIPO and EUIPO, handling offensive and defensive oppositions, as well as drafting license agreements, settlement agreements and assignments.
Dan began his career in IP as an IP paralegal at a well-known patent and trademark attorney firm in 2013. He subsequently joined Novagraaf in January 2015, initially as a trademark paralegal and progressed to training to become an attorney in August 2016.
Dan has managed a worldwide filing project by identifying gaps in a historical trademark portfolio, preparing the filing strategy and overseeing prosecution of the applications across a wide range of jurisdictions.
Dan has overseen a number of global recordal projects in which he drafted legal recordal documents and liaised with foreign associates in many jurisdictions to ensure the trademark portfolios were up-to-date and accurate.
