Laura Morrish is a UK Chartered Trademark Attorney. Having worked for other large IP practices in London, as well as for a number of tech startups, Laura has 12 years’ experience in the field of IP and has previously managed the trademark department of a legal practice. Laura has extensive experience in the filing and prosecution of applications in the UK, Europe and internationally. She regularly assists clients with opposition proceedings, and the enforcement and maintenance of global trademark portfolios, including dealing with infringement and passing off issues. Laura focuses on the management of clients’ portfolios, including: advising on cancellation proceedings, pre-action negotiations, clearance searches, recordals of assignments and licenses.
Laura has a Biology degree from University of Nottingham and a Masters in Management of Intellectual Property from Queen Mary University in London.
Laura regularly acts for clients in a wide range of industries, including the automotive, fashion, technology, food and financial services sectors.
She has worked with companies in a number of sectors to extend their brand protection into new markets, particularly North America, Europe and Asia. She is experienced in working with both established businesses and startups to ensure that they have sufficient protection at each phase of their growth.
Laura has many years’ experience in relation to the prosecution of trademark applications before the UK and EU IP offices, as well as WIPO and the offices of numerous overseas territories, in particular, the US and China.
She also has extensive knowledge and experience in handling oppositions, invalidity and revocation actions before UKIPO and EUIPO, and in negotiating the resolution of such actions by means of the giving of undertakings and the drawing up of co-existence agreements.
